PROBLEM: *Insert lots of biology information.* Essentially need to rotate a vortexing plate 90 degrees in a way that doesn't disrupt the 7cm radius vortexing that the plate goes through.

SOLUTION: Design a mechanism that rotates the plate 90 degrees and then goes back into the rest position in which there is a clearance larger than 7cm allowing rotation of the plate to occur.
