FILAMENT RECYCLER

PROBLEM: 3D printing is often used for prototyping which renders many prints useless after they have been tested. These parts are discarded, contributing to landfills or making their way into our oceans. In the current market, there are some machines that grind down these prints in hope of making them into a usable filament. Many schools and businesses avoid the current options as they are large, expensive, and dangerous; yet they would like to become more environmentally conscious by reusing parts that no longer have value to them.

SOLUTION: Create a prototype that can properly grind down existing 3D parts/supports, melt, extrude, and wind the recycled plastic into a filament spool.
